How to Make Packing Slips from a CSV

A batch of orders is easier to pack when each row uses predictable headings. SlipBatch lets you map those headings, repair rejected rows, and create the documents in your browser.

1. Prepare the CSV

Use one row per item. If an order contains several items, repeat its order number and recipient details on each row. You will need columns for the order number, recipient name, first address line, item name, and quantity. SKU and variant columns are optional, but they make the pick list more useful.

SlipBatch accepts one CSV up to 5 MB and 5,000 rows, with no more than 500 orders or 100 item lines per order. You can download a sample CSV from the tool page if you want a starting point.

2. Map the Columns

Open CSV packing run, choose the file, and match each source heading to a SlipBatch field. The mapper suggests matches, but check them before moving on. Pro users can save one mapping in the browser for the next file with the same headings.

3. Repair Rejected Rows

SlipBatch checks required values, quantities, field lengths, and conflicting recipient details within an order. Edit a flagged value in the review screen and run the checks again. Rejected rows cannot enter the output, so the accepted count should match the orders you intend to pack.

4. Choose the Output

Pro can create one merged packing-slip PDF, a ZIP containing one PDF per order, or a consolidated pick-list PDF. The pick list totals rows with the same non-blank SKU and variant and includes the related order numbers.

For an occasional parcel, the Single slip tab is free and unlimited. It creates a watermark-free A4 or US Letter packing slip from a typed order, with no price or payment fields.

Order details, CSV rows, and generated files are processed in the browser rather than uploaded to SlipBatch.
